Addiction overload!

Every so often, someone completely bowls you over with their overwhelming kindness, this was one of those moments! But before i tell you about it all, I think I had better admit to my little secret, to show how much it meant to me.

'Hello my name is Mrs Wood and I'm completely addicted to buying pretty china cups, saucers and cake plates and stands'

Ok! there you go its out in the open, I did it! I admit to tirelessly trawling ebay, 2nd hand shops, and auctions for vintage china,So when a friend out of the blue gave me an  enormous box of perfectly wrapped and packed delicate cups, saucers, teapots, cake stands and even a beautiful cake knife, that her lovely mum had collected over the years and generations of her family,  I was completely floored with how thoughtful and kind people really can be, it litterally felt like Christmas and all my Birthdays had come at once.

I promise to look after and cherish all this gorgeous china, its definately gone to a good home!

Now all i need to do is think of the perfect cake to say Thank you, quite a challenge when the recipitent is an 'egg-free' candidate, so watch this space!

Huge Thank you, you know who you are..........
Sorry Mr Woods, my china collection has just got a whole lot bigger!

Peace out/ Cake out!

The Forgotten Cake

Now Mr Wood would put his hands up,nod his head and completely agree with me, that ever so occasionally I can be a Dizzy Doris, this cake was the outcome of one of those particular moments, when a forgotten and promised Birthday cake became a 'Crypton Factor' style kitchen whirlwind of mental agility to be finished before the buzzer went off and I was to be expected for a night of fun and booze with all my favourite girls!

I know the fastest cake is a Scone ( SGONE!) but Surely this must be a Record Breaker for the quickest Chocolate Fudge cake in history!

Happy Birthday Shez and Bex a fun night of September naughtiness!

Peace out/cake out!

Cookie Dough chocolate Bombs!

So come on, admit it ..............who doesnt scrape the bowl and lick the spoon after a batch of cookies go in the oven! With that in mind and a new twist on the cake pop, here are the Cookie Dough Chocolate Bombs, which caused quite a bit of interest from my trusty taste testers!

All lined up in a row to be demolished 'Cookie Monster' Style

Choc-Chip cookie dough, dipped in chocolate with chocolate sprinkles, chocolate overload, do you think you could handle it...............................................

Peace out/Cake out

Strawberry shortcake!

These cupcakes were for a customer who requested something a little diiferent for her Birthday, so I did a little research on the tinterweb and came up with these Strawberry Cheesecake cupcakes.

Well i say Strawberry cheese cake, but they've got their own little twist on the original and maybe a little deconstructed!

Vanilla Sponge, with a dollop of strawberry jam as a hidden surprise with a large piped swirl of
cream cheese frosting!

Finished off with a ripe strawberry and a sprinkling of crumbly cheesecake base!

For those 70/80's little girls out there, this is exactly what i think my childhood idol StrawBerry-ShortCake might have loved!

Peace out/ Cake out!

Glamping Hen-do

Now I know my posts are usually cake related but i couldn't resist 'blogging' this one, its about cake but with a hen-do twist because I definately can't take all of the credit for the decorating skills involved!

Its official, I am literally the most proudest-Bridesmaid-to-be for one of the most beautiful-Brides-to-be, FACT! So it only seemed appropriate along with the other Bridesmaids that we gave her the send off she deserved. So we came up with a weekend of Glamping for the choosen few in the Lake District.

As you can see, The Yurts and open-air kitchen, were utterly gorgeous!

I baked some fun cupcakes and had edible photo toppers made up of the Bride and Groom, bound to put a smile on all the Hen's faces

After a scoop or two (or three) we decided to hold a cookie decorating competition using some cookies, Blue Peter style that 'i had made earlier' and baked at home. Lets just say as expected the Hens used their imagination with the icing and here are a few examples of the ones that arent too x-rated!

............and the winner went to Tappers with this surprisingly life like portrait of the happy couple

The weekend had the most perfect ingrediants of a beautiful setting, amazing company and obviously a decent amount of booze and most importantly I think the Bride had fun!

Roll-on 15th September and the McMarsden wedding,
                                                 too excited for words!

Peace out / Cake out!
